TMI Membership and the Project Able Consortium
SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS REWARDS!
Access to 900 staff-wide PD credit hours and participation in the Project Able Consortium.
TMI has created the “Project ABLE Consortium” (the Consortium) to serve schools through a collaborative, authentic-based teaching and learning community. Through a school’s membership in TMI, teachers throughout the Consortium have access to collaborative professional development solutions, domestic and international projects and web-based tools and resources; students throughout the Consortium have access to collaborative, authentic tasks and web-based tools and resources. TMI facilitates and manages centralized collaborative projects for both teachers and students alike. We welcome you to join our current members: Ramsey, New Milford, Mahwah, Tenafly, Montvale and Bergen Academies.
BASIC MEMBER SERVICES
- Staff-wide access to a minimum of 30 professional development workshops presented by TMI staff and occasional guest co-presenters, plus 2 large format conferences designed to accommodate 1,000 teachers each (a total of 2,000 teachers): Columbus Day and Martin Luther King Day.
- Teacher participation in Project ABLE’s Collaborative Professional Development Solution (4 teachers from each member school participated in 5 workshops throughout the school year). Teachers learn how to create authentic tasks and administer them in the classroom, administer collaborative projects and assess students in an authentic and collaborative environment.
- Staff-wide access to the ableLocker, a web-based educational communication, collaboration and content resource harnessing the power of Web 2.0: create & store content, incorporate rich, multi-media content within authentic tasks, collaborate on domestic and international projects, share best practices, communicate with other teachers and students and more.
The total cost for Base Member Services is $2,950.00 and is paid directly by the member school to The Madison Institute.
Being a member saves your school money! Example: For a school with a staff of 60 teachers, the Consortium’s Basic Member Services alone can provide your staff with almost 900 professional development credit hours annually. These same annual credit hours would cost approximately $26,400.00 in the marketplace. However, a member school can achieve the same results through the Consortium’s Basic Member Services by paying a membership fee of only $2,950.00. This fee equates to a cost of only $3.35 per professional development credit hour, or approximately 37% of the average $9.00 per professional development credit hour many schools incur annually. THAT’S A SAVINGS OF 63% ON YOUR PD DOLLARS!
